Tree Planting Programs

Newport offers subsidized tree planting programs for as low as $50 to residents interested in sponsoring street trees in the public right-of-way, or setback up to 20′ on private property.

Commit to caring for a young tree and the City of Newport will provide one at wholesale cost and plant it for you! (Tree must be situated within 20 feet of a public roadside). Thank you to everyone who purchased a tree this year! The program has ended.

The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, in November 2008, published the manual titled, “Tree Owner’s Manual for the Northeastern and Midwestern United States”. This manual provides helpful information on choosing, planting, and caring for your tree. View Manual
