Field Work Study September 1, 2015

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) tide predictions for Newport, RI (StationId: 8452660) on September 1, 2015 indicate that there will be a high tide of 4.91 feet (datum – Mean Lower-Low Water) occurring at 10:23 AM. Staff from CH2M will be in the Bridge Street and Wellington Avenue study areas during this high tide performing field inspections and will be available to speak with area residents interested in providing more information for use in the Drainage Study and Flooding Analysis. The planned field inspection schedule is as follows:

Bridge Street Study Area
Time: 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Location: Intersection of Bridge Street with Third Street and Second Street
Purpose of Inspections: Collect field measurements on the depth of tidal backwater upstream and downstream of tide gates for use in model calibration.

Wellington Avenue Study Area
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Intersection of Wellington Avenue with Houston Avenue, Clinton Street and Marchant Street
Purpose of Inspections: Collect field measurements on the depth of tidal backwater for use in model calibration and to confirm storm drain connectivity.
